Gone, but not forgotten

Jason Butcher

Classy number 3 bat. Like a right-handed David Gower.
CAREER STATS

Nick Clarke

Holds record for highest Ditton innings - 138.
CAREER STATS

Wayne Clements

Never seen a bowler swing it as much as Wayne could.
CAREER STATS

Jeremy Costello

Jezzer, all-rounder and drinking hero.
CAREER STATS

Don Dawson

'The Don'.
CAREER STATS

James Gosden

Goose became an immediate hit on his Ditton debut at Romsey Town, bowling Nick Clarke. It was his batting over a successful era for the club that will be remembered, in particular his 137 not out on Parkers Piece against N.C.I. Introduced the phrase 'beige buffet' for a good quality Tea.
CAREER STATS

Martin Hancock

Founder member. Tried to be the best batsman and fastest bowler in the club, but found in the end that he was an exceptional left arm spinner and inspirational skipper (when he kept his toys in the pram).
CAREER STATS

Geoff Housden

'Uncle' Geoff was the most reliable opening batsmen you could find, and the most reliable bloke as well.
CAREER STATS

Paul Jenkins

Played for the social aspects and trips to international matches. A great colleague and mate, could have got a job on TMS.
CAREER STATS

Tim Lunel

Fast bowler, brutal batsman.
CAREER STATS

Chris Martin

Doc Martin. Stocky left arm bowler of deceptive pace and solid batsman. Left after graduating from CU.
CAREER STATS

Pete Maskell

First played for Ditton back in 2001 when a promising teenager, left to attend University returned in 2009. Eratic batsman and bowler who could also drop the odd catch. Most Improved Player in 2001.
CAREER STATS

Andy Rabjohns

Rabs, Homer, Captain Mainwaring, Rupert. Andy has had more nicknames than most, but he's a larger than life Yorkshireman who skippered the Club for 12 years. Joining in 1993 he was an instant success and despite his chain-smoking, lager drinking and cholesterol packed diet, he's been a durable, consistant performer with bat and ball. Player of the Year in '93, '95, '96, '98, '99, '00, '04, '05 and '06 he's rigged the voting an astonishing 9 times. Organised and led the famous Catterick tour back in the mid nineties. Another 'Legend'.
CAREER STATS

Paul Sadler

An Animal, but very accurate seam bowler.
CAREER STATS

Ali Selmes

Awesome bowler during 2011 & 2012, taking 50 wickets. Could also bat and good tourist.
CAREER STATS

Ian Steed

Ian joined in 2005 and it was difficult back then what to make of him. A spin bowler coming into our testoterone packed club of seamers? He showed that he could bowl some special, wicket taking balls, but could also send down the odd 'Barnes Wallis' ball. A selfless batter, prepared to throw the bat at the innings end and not care about his average (just as well!). Best known for his exceptional fielding as a boundary sweeper until 2009 saw Ian become a vital cog in the Ditton bowling unit.
2010 Performance: 15 wickets at 12.93, 28 runs at 7.00, 4 catches.
CAREER STATS

Rory Wilkinson

Highlight a match winning, relegation saving 104 not out at Over. That he pulled up lame and had most of the running done for him didn't warn us then of things to come. A left-handed opener, Rory plays with panache, flashing boundaries to all parts, but will seldom run a three. He's like a throwback to 'Gentlemen' players who consider running a crude method of scoring runs. This also explains why he only fields at slip and rarely needs to have his whites cleaned by the maid. Shocked us in 2009 by chasing the ball twice and then running the batsmen out with direct hits - not really the 'done thing' is it? Always fashionably late for the start and one of the first to leave in his sports car for his evening engagements.
CAREER STATS

Eddie Wright

Farmer Wright, the only person I've heard claim to have had the diseases he claimed to have recovered from.
CAREER STATS

David Yandell

Founder of the club, secretary, captain, very fast bowler, superb batsman. Best cricketer Ditton has had, or will have.
